CODA with Mike and Sadie Wagoner
Live album recording of Mike and Sadie Wagoner and official book release for Mikes new book at The Heartwood Center in Sandpoint, Idaho. Doors open at 6.
Coda: noun: the concluding passage of a piece or movement, typically forming an addition to the basic structure. The term "coda" (from the Italian word for "tail") is also a musical term for a distinct passage at the very end of a piece of music that brings it to a conclusion.
Participate in a live album recording with Mike and Sadie Wagoner at the Heartwood Center in Sandpoint, Idaho, while they work to memorialize their days of playing music together. A father daughter duo that has played together locally since Sadie was a child. They got their start when Sadie joined Mike on stage at Elkins Resort on Priest Lake and sang "Tear My Stillhouse Down." A blusey classic by Gillian Welch. More songs got added over the years until the official Mike and Sadie duo was formed, and then they played weekly every summer at the resorts in Priest Lake and made their way to Sandpoint and other surrounding areas on occasion.
After COVID, theyve felt a shift in the music scene at Priest Lake with a couple of their regular venues no longer having music. As time continues on, they find themselves performing together less and less and the question, "is this the end to an era?" has begun to arrive. With this event, they hope to record their history together by recording their live performance as they play some of their favorited classics that they've been playing all these years. Heavy crowd participation is encouraged, as that has always been such a huge part of their performances with Mike being the front man that he is. The human connection being the ultimate goal of every performance. They hope to capture that as well in this recording.
This is also going to be the official book release for Mike Wagoners new book "Goin To The Lake". A book about how he got his start in Priest Lake, stories of the area, and stories of playing music up there back in the day before smartphones when times were simpler. If you already got yourself a copy, this will be a good chance to have it signed if you wish, and talk to Mike directly.
Mike and Sadie are both songwriters and feel a draw towards doing something a bit different. Thankful for the memories and blessed to be part of something special with music in the area. What sort of feels like the end to one chapter in their lives, feels like the beginning of new one. They look forward to you coming and helping them record what has been such a significant special part of their lives.
Tickets available on line (https://mikeandsadiecoda.eventbrite.com) or at the door.

Object Heavy is Humboldt County’s hard hitting soul sensation. The band is led by the nuanced and powerful voice of Richard Love and composed of seasoned veterans of the West Coast Soul and Funk scene. Fresh off the release of their new record, 'Love & Gravity' (Produced by Kelly Finnigan of Monophonics), they have garnered stellar reviews from an international audience and were promoted as a featured artist on Apple Music's Soul and RnB carousel. They were also featured on several of Apple Music's top playlists within their genre field. Object Heavy has spent the last few years establishing themselves as a stand out live experience in touring the greater western United States and sharing the stage with diverse talent such as Orgone, The Motet, Rebirth Brass Band, Polyrhythmics, Turkuaz, Lyrics Born, and Chali 2na. Object Heavy’s magnetic blend of classic Cadillac soul, effortlessly contagious dance grooves, vocal harmonies and blazing musicianship is a must see live experience.
Biddadat
Three happy-go-lucky boys, poking around on controllers, picking on strings, banging on drums: sounds like a little Biddadat. They are Seattle's essence of neo-funk, combining the nostalgia of funk and blues with contemporary rock and electronica. If their silly attitudes don't make you comfortable enough to shake it on that floor, the tunes will certainly fuel those moves.
Doors and the bar open at 6:30 with Biddadat kicking off the party at 7:30 so don't be late!!!
Boot Juice
Boot Juice hails from the Hills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California. The band features electric and acoustic guitars, three vocalists, bass, drums, saxophone and trumpet. Inspired by the likes of The Band and Railroad Earth with an intensely energetic show reminiscent of Talking Heads, Boot Juice has been gaining buzz with their vibrant performances and party-sparking reputation. Shifting effortlessly between driving bluegrass and americana into cosmic rock’n’roll and swing. They deliver three part vocal harmonies and dynamic instrumental arrangements with a sultry dose of blues and soul. The collective effect leaves crowds little choice but to shake it down on the dance floor.
The Lowest Pair
During the spring and summer of 2020, The Lowest Pair (Kendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee) found themselves camping and sharing songs around the fire with two dear friends and incredible musicians Adam Roszkiewicz and Leif Karlstrom of the instrumental duo “Small Town Therapy”. Founding members of the progressive string band Front Country, multi-instrumentalists Adam and Leif bring a new dynamic palette of colors to Kendl and Palmer’s own instrumental prowess and expressive lyricism.
